Quite some time ago it became apparent to me that in order for a friendship to flourish both parties would have to respect each other’s right to free will. A lesson learned from a friendship now unfortunately dissolved, but not without having left its lesson behind for future reference.

You see, this friend of mine used to want me to hang out in bars with her, which I must say was really not my cup of tea. Finally after many disagreements about this subject I finally decided to ask...

The famous three words we never hear enough of in our life. Throughout our life span we keep looking, waiting and hoping for something to take us, or lead us, to our true love. Have you ever wondered where we can find love?

What really is this word "Love" that we keep repeating to that someone special in our lives? How many times do you tell your partner "I love you"? Do you really mean it, or do you just like to hear yourself speak? Or, is it just being said...

I'm not sure how the rest of you feel about this, but when you are in an unhealthy relationship than sometimes resolving it or getting out of it can feel a bit defeating. In my relationship right now, we have decided to go to counseling. It was either that or break up, and we decided to give it one more try. Relationships take a great deal of maintenance. I know that many feel that if you are in love than it should be effortless. Gods, I wish that was true! Making a relationship work is...

Whatever age we are and wherever we live, friends are an integral part of our lives. Toddlers at playgroup make friends, school children's lives often seem to revolve around their friendships, and throughout your life you continue to make friends - the great thing is that having one doesn't mean you can't have another - so that from school, work and parenthood, acquaintances often metamorphose happily into great friends.
Throughout the world, great importance is attached to...

What do you do when the pressure of a difficult realtionship situation has passed? You argued, you were angry, you blew it, they forgave you and all is well. It would seem like you could just go on from there and not give the issue another thought.

But like any important task such as folding your own skydive rigging.. you don't do an attentive job halfway through and then just cram the second half in and get on the plane. You could do that, but I don't suggest it.

Hello! I moved your post to Words from the heart forum. That is where we post poetry, short stories, etc. Yeats happens to be my favorite poet, so I really appreciate your posting it.

BTW, for some reason when I moved it, I went to the other forum to make sure it was there and it was gone, so I reposted it and made reference to you. I'm so sorry, I'm not sure what happened or if it ended up in a whole different forum.<img...

Relationships make the world go round - everyone is seeking someone who will love and understand them. And that's just as true of friendship as it is of romantic relationships. In many countries, especially in tribal cultures, friendship is reveredand marked by rituals - from blood brotherhood to blessed 'marriages' between friends that formalise an unbreakable bond.

Friendships can often happen by purest chance, but what is it that makes you compatible with one person and not...
